Red Lake Warriors basketball this afternoon on WRLN as they host Pine River-Backus! We’ll go live after the JV game is done, which tips off at 1!

We are excited to share that Saturday (2/7) night's Red Lake Nation College men’s basketball game will be broadcast entirely in Ojibwemowin! The game will be against Sisseton Wahpeton College, with tip-off at 7:00pm. Serena Graves-Daniel and John Daniel will call the game, making this a memorable experience for all listeners!
A huge thank you to Dr. Dan Ninham for the suggestion, and to Serena and John for being on board as well. Serena and John are also developing a verb list to help listeners follow along.

That is really cool! I am starting to learn the language, and stuff like this helps a lot! Otherwise the more formal lessons just go in one ear and out the other.
***PROGRAMMING ANNOUNCEMENT ***
Starting today at 1pm, WRLN will be trying out a new format! In the radio world, this format is called “Jack FM” instead of the Block programming that we’re currently running.
They new format will not have an effect on the pow wow Block or the morning show, starting at one today, all genres of music will be played and mixed! Hope you all enjoy!

I listened to a station in New Mexico that did that. You'd have Tim McGraw followed by powwow music. Was very interesting.
